Here is Sarah's campaign's statement on the results:

I am very proud of our work on the Sarah for SLP campaign for SLP City Council Ward 1. We addressed over 1,800 postcards, raised over $4,500, and knocked over 1,200 doors. We received 654 first-choice votes. We could not have done any of it without you.

Thank you so much for your encouragement, generous donations of time and money, t-shirt orders, and letters to the editor. I have learned so much about SLP and my neighbors through this experience. I look forward to supporting Daniel Bashore, SLP Ward 1 City Councilor Elect, in any way that I can.

The work isn’t finished. Though we weren’t successful in this election, we’re working towards a brighter future. This won’t be the last Sarah Steffen campaign, and I hope that you’ll join me in future campaigns. Thank you!
