WELCOME

aboutME
I'm Sarah, a public health professional living in St. Louis Park, MN. In 2025, I ran for City Council in Ward 1: Birchwood, Bronx Park, Fern Hill, Lake Forest, Sorensen, and Triangle neighborhoods.
I ran for office to advocate for health, safety, and affordability in SLP. I would like to improve walker and bike friendliness, and increase access to affordable housing. We all deserve the chance to live, work, and play in SLP.

I look forward to getting to know you!

MY BACKGROUND
Minnesota
I grew up in Edina, MN. I went to preschool in SLP, and graduated from Edina HS in 2012. I played hockey, and was in band and choir. I grew up with one brother, one sister, and a family mini golden doodle.
Brunswick,
ME
I went to college in Maine at Bowdoin College. I rowed on the crew team, and majored in sociology. I also worked at Oasis Free Clinics.
Washington, DC
I was an Americorps member in DC and worked on HIV testing and program management.
St. Louis Park, MN
I now hold a Masters in Public Health from the University of Minnesota, and work at a community health center in St. Paul. I live in SLP with my dog, Pringle.
Why now?
To advocate for my coworkers
I worked at Yum! SLP in 2023.
Working at Yum! Kitchen and Bakery SLP in 2023-24, I made the state minimum wage, plus tips. I was not able to live in SLP on this wage, so I worked 2 other jobs, and received public assistance, such as state insurance. I am running to advocate for fair wages for all in honor of my former co-workers.
To improve life in the park
To improve health for all who live, work and play in SLP.
As a trained public health professional with a background in sociology, I have a "Health in all Policies" mindset. When I am out biking in SLP and I am hit by trees (or a car), I think about the ways that the city could improve walk and bike friendliness for its residents. I am running to improve life in the park for all.
